When is the harvest ?
Harvest is generally 100-105 days after flowering's midpoint. If the spring is "normal" harvest is usually towards the 3rd week in September. Over the last 15 harvests this has been the case except for unusual years such as in 2003 (very early), 2007 early with the reds and a bit later with the whites and 2008 later than the average.

What was the harvest like in 2009?

What is a negociant?
By definition a negociant is someone (or a company) that buys grapes and semi finished wine in barrel.
Many negociants have separate companies (we do) that grow their own grapes and then sell the grapes to the negociant company who make the wine.
In most other wine making areas in the world this distinction is unimportant and we call them wine makers; not so in France and especially in Burgundy.
Please note that in Champagne most of the brands buy in 60-80% of their grapes to make their wine. In Champagne the distinction is unimportant.

Do you grow your own grapes?
We own 2.5 hectares (6.2 acres) of vineyards. Which produces ~25-30% of our grape needs.
Bourgogne Pinot Noir in the Volnay area.
Bourgogne Chardonnay in the Volnay area.
Puligny Montrachet.
Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroie.
90-95% of our wines come from grapes we either grew or bought.

We sell our wines in over 20 countries. You can find out who imports Maison Gambal wines by accessing the "find our wine" tab above and then using the interactive world map.

How can I learn more about your wines and vintages?
Each wine and year is different. We have created individual descriptions for each appellation and vintage for you to download or to answer questions like: when was the wine bottled, how long was the wine aged in barrel and what is the soil like in this vineyard. Click on "the wine" link at the top of the page to find the wine you're looking for.

Where will you be showing your wines?

We travel throughtout the year to show our wines at wine dinners and tastings throughout the world. You can see a list of the events that we will be attending on the "events" tab above.
